We are reluctantly selling our lovely Broadwood Barless Grand Piano No.53521 so if you're looking for a proper grand piano you have come to the right place. It is a 6ft 8in Barless* Grand Piano made in 1921 and has been regularly maintained throughout its life. It was last refurbished in 2000 when it had over £3,500 spent on it and it has been tuned and maintained at least every 6 months.
The piano is in good condition for its age and its sound is amazingly rich and full of character, especially in the middle and bass registers. My partner and I are both composers and we are very particular about tuning/voicing/sound so we recently spent a further £1,000 on voicing and enhancing the sound of the piano. The instrument is located in London, Islington N1 and you can arrange a viewing on 07974976736. Happy bidding!
*Broadwood after the first World War introduced a piano frame without bars (The so called “Barless” piano.) The demands of strength and stiffness of this concept made it heavy and the frame required a peripheral flange. However the concept eliminated the problem of virtually all traditional pianos of uneven sound quality between the separate registers caused by the space needed for bars. Acoustically the piano had merit. Broadwood Barless Pianos are now highly regarded collector’s items.
